John Madigan QFA
John, lives with his family in Buttevant north Cork. Buttevant is sometimes called “The Crossroads of Munster” because of its central location. John has been in financial services helping families since 1998 and wrote his first mortgage in 2011. Since then John has been helping families across Munster buy their homes.
“Builders build houses, but people make homes”
John loves sport of all kinds. He coached hurling and camogie at different levels for 18 years. In 2003 John coached Buttevant camogie club to its first county title since 1948 and followed that up with 6 more titles over the years. Hurling is more than just a game it’s a passion, there is nothing better than going to Croke Park on All Ireland final day or Thurles on Munster final day and having the banter with opposing fans or going to the local pitch and watching the youth of today playing the ancient game of hurling or camogie.
Giving back to deserving causes is important to John. John started the “Michael Madigan memorial” fishing fun day in 2021 in memory of his father Michael RIP who died of cancer, to raise much needed funds for the Carcer Research. This has raised thousands of euros for a
cause that has touched every family.
John is a big Nottingham Forest fan and enjoys the odd trip back to Nottingham to watch a game. John has been supporting Nottingham Forest since the early 1970’s. John was at Wembley supporting Nottingham Forest when they won promotion back to the premier league in 2022.
Saturday morning is usually spent playing a round of golf in Doneraile where John is a member. Although John is no Tiger Woods, he really enjoys a round of golf just to get out in the fresh air, to have a “competitive game “with some friends but most importantly to have some fun.
